What is a Property Website?

A property website is a website designed and built for a specific and individual property.  The property website details and shows the potential buyer instant, accurate and focused information about that property and area.  A direct domain to a property website with a complimentary mobile site allows anyone to cast a larger net to reach out to the most people as well as enhance their current online presence.

Imagine if you will a passer by sees a for sale sign at your property.  One of two scenarios could occur.  1) That person can go to Zillow, Truilla or the MLS listing and search for the property and get distracted by other properties on the site, OR  2) can go directly to the property's website and get accurate, up-to-date info about the property, the neighborhood and find a direct contact for that agent or broker.

The Appeal for Eye Appeal

Welcome to this week's blog post about the "The Appeal for Eye Appeal" for marketing and selling your property.  We hope that this blog gives you some knowledge and value to you and your business.

An Eye for Design

One of the most important things about designing websites for properties is to have it be easy on the eyes as well as appealing.  According to data by Tony Haile of Chartbeat, people spend about 15 seconds on a home page before moving on.  In this instance the design needs to capture attention, focus it and appeal to the interest of the viewer to get them to envision themselves in a property, find out more information and contact that agent or broker.

The keys for an effective and eye appeal design for properties are simple:  1)  Everything you want to say and what your about should be there up and front on the home page 2)  Provide a visual, either a video or picture gallery to help the viewer envision themselves in and at the property 3) Present enough information for the viewer to be informed as well as be engaged enough to want more.

Focusing the Message
This is not always an easy task, but with a bit of creative work and a well written description this will sure be able to capture that viewer's attention and encourage them to click through to find out more information.  According to Sharron O'Brien of Market Leader, a real estate description should "draw a picture" so that the viewer can see themselves in the property (click here for the full article).  Along with high quality pictures organized into a gallery on the home page; a viewer can see everything on the property that they need to know and be able to make a decision to either become a lead by contact the agent or moving on to another property.
